International MegaBörze returns to the Grand Hall of PeCsa
Back into the old rut! The series of International MegaBörze will be held in the Grand Hall of PeCsa again. As you may be aware, due to the lengthy process in replacing the management of the Hall the last two events were housed by PeCsa Café which could accommodate less than one third only of the usual participants.
On 22nd January we look forward to meeting the fans of vinyls and CDs again at more than 100 sales desks, but visitors from home and abroad will surely find books and rare collectors’ items as well.
We will take this opportunity to present the 2011 Börze Award which the board of trustees adjudged to Fecó Balázs. Contrary to the tradition of previous years we will divert from the gold-plated Memory figurine this time. This year’s award was created by Kezeslábas Stúdió showing a hand that plays the piano. The hand, as it were, levitates above the piano keyboard covered by a glass plate which serves as the upper surface of the plinth. The sculptured hand was made with a unique method copied directly from the artist’s hand. He dipped his hand into a quick setting mould which in turn was filled with a material as hard as alabaster. The sculpture therefore is a true copy of the artist’s hand.
We look forward to meeting you at 56th International MegaBörze (Budapest, XIV. Városliget, Zichy Mihály utca 14.) from 10 a.m. on 22nd January. The cermony starts at 11 o’clock.
Forthcoming dates of MegaBörze in 2012 are: 27th May, 16th September, 18th November.
